Lou Ann Abbott
Retired
A retired Pioneer employee, Lou Ann worked at Pioneer for 15 years as program manager for individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities. She now serves on the Safety Committee. Her interest still lies with this special group of people, and she hopes that Pioneer will continue to expand as a facility for those who are disabled.
Lou Ann hopes that the community will be aware of what Pioneer represents, and that job opportunities can be offered within the community to these individuals.
"I love Pioneer and what it stands for - offering opportunities to those who need to be accepted in the community and to offer job training, as well as jobs, within Pioneer's programs.” |

Martha Bryant
Kentucky Trust Company, Senior VP
Martha has served on the Pioneer board as treasurer since August 2005. She continues to serve because of the valuable service Pioneer provides to the community and its clients.
Her goals for Pioneer include helping the Danville community become familiar with the services that Pioneer has to offer, and to develop mutually beneficial relationships by utilizing those services.
"I hope Pioneer continues to expand its capabilities, and in turn increases the employment opportunities to the people of this region." |

Filicia Day
Danville Board of Education, Vocational Trainer
Filicia serves as the Public Relations specialist on the Pioneer board. As a former Pioneer staff member, she wanted to get involved with the company again by serving on the board.
Filicia hopes that Pioneer will become more self-sufficient through the development of new products and services.
"I am confident that Danville can help assist Pioneer as it expands, and I want to use my position on the board to get the message of Pioneer to the area." |

Kay Drake
Centre College, Director of Human Resources
& Administrative Services
Kay served on the board under previous Pioneer director Jack Godby and returned to the board seven months ago for a new term as the board Secretary. Kay's interest in Pioneer stems from its mission and the dedication of the staff members.
She thinks Danville businesses will benefit from meeting with the Pioneer staff and learning about all the services offered.
"As Pioneer continues to grow, I plan on increasing awareness of both the production side and the opportunities for Danville businesses to employee Pioneer's clients into their workforces." |

Sharon Martin
Heritage Hospice, Inc.
Sharon serves on the Community Awareness and Media board. Sharon is happy to be part of the board because she sees how great an impact Pioneer Services has on the local community. She wants to continue the goal of helping those who are in need to become the best that they can be, and believes that Pioneer can make this happen.
Sharon’s desire is to create awareness in surrounding counties about Pioneer Services and find prospective referrals and job placements for individuals who come through Pioneer’s doors.
"I feel very proud to serve on an active board; one that truly loves creating a productive and positive atmosphere for others. By educating others about Pioneer’s services, we could have a great impact on our local communities." |

Harold McKinney
Boyle County Attorney's Office
Harold has been a familiar face on the board for more than 10 years. Now serving as president, he firmly believes everyone should give back to their community to make it a strong and positive one.
Harold knows the importance of good community standing, and would like to continue taking Pioneer down that path as a good corporate citizen, in addition to the high-quality client services they offer.
"If we don’t give back to our own communities, who will? It is up to us, as residents, to make where we live exactly what we want it to be." |

Patty is a member of the Finance Committee board. She considers serving on Pioneer's board to be a privilege, and she hopes to assist the director and staff with whatever guidance and support is needed.
Patty has known the valuable role this company has played in the lives of numerous individuals. She recognizes the abilities of Pioneer to be remarkable, and she is proud of this company’s success.

Dennis Short
Danville Family Chiropractic P.S.C., Owner/Chiropractor
Dennis has served on the board since 2004 and is past board president. He has always been interested in helping the community, so when he was asked to be on the board, it was a natural fit. He hopes that the Danville community continues to recommend Pioneer's services to their family and friends.
"I would like for more people in the area to know what a great services Pioneer offers. I also hope they can expand the business side of Pioneer in the next few years." |

Barry S. Steele
UBS Financial Services, Inc.
Barry is the newest member of the Pioneer board, and has a strong desire to help increase the range of services provided. He believes by creating more awareness in the community, the company will improve even more lives than it currently does.
His goal is to expand Pioneer’s services to those who are not currently being helped, and involving board members to reach out to leaders outside of Pioneer is one of many ideas Barry brings.

Rollin Tarter
Semi-Retired
Rollin is a veteran board member and is currently on the Operations and Planning Committee. Rollin was compelled to serve after an invitation from a friend and a positive experience with Pioneer as an affiliate of the Bluegrass Regional Mental Health Board.
Rollin hopes to support Pioneer’s excellent leadership, continue the diversity of its work for clients, and increase visibility to show the range of clients that this company serves.

James C. Thompson
United Warehousing Company, LLC, Operations Manager
Jim has always admired Pioneer's mission and was compelled to serve on the board to help further Pioneer's goals and give back to the Danville community. He would like to see Pioneer be recognized as a regional model by expanding its outreach to those in need throughout the state.
Jim knows that enlightening the Danville community to Pioneer's achievements is the first step. He plans on using their services for United Warehousing whenever possible, and hopes other businesses follow the lead.
"I consider it an honor to serve on this board, and I hope to see much growth in the years to come.
